A Little More on Baldr's Hands-on Owner
Andrew Jorgenson cut his teeth as a craftsman under the tutelage of his late Father, Jim Jorgenson, a master of industrial arts. From childhood his training field was his family’s small resort in northern Minnesota. With the myriad contracting needs always accompanying the resort business Andrew gained exposure to all basic aspects of construction and maintenance at an early age. Since 1997 Andrew has served as the property manager for Shady Shore Resort and continues to do so today.
After graduating from St. Olaf College in 2002 Andrew worked for a Minneapolis-area custom homes contracting firm, Bakken Homes Inc. In two years time Andrew served on a team that worked to build 35 private residences and 4 corporate office buildings, becoming a recognized master framer and accomplished finish carpenter.
In 2004 Andrew moved to Denver, CO to pursue graduate studies. While a student Andrew worked for Greene Construction, a well-known mountain custom homes builder in the Denver area. As an apprentice of master carpenter, Richard Greene, Andrew had the opportunity to learn about all things custom, designing and creating everything from cabinetry to fieldstone patios, timber frames to metal roofs.
Upon moving back to Minnesota in 2011 Andrew launched Baldr Contracting and Construction, LLC. Building upon his breadth of experience and accomplishment within the trades Andrew now serves as Baldr’s hands-on owner, where he personally oversees every project toward Baldr’s overall goals of ingenuitive creation, adaptability and enduring beauty.
